problem with customs and returnsI was really excited about my new bikini, which I ordered at the end of August. After a long waiting period — which honestly didn’t bother me — the parcel finally arrived in Germany. However, it was held at customs, and I had to go there in person, pay an additional 19% of the item’s price, and complete the process myself in order to receive it. This procedure was never mentioned during the purchase. I even received an official letter from customs stating that Makhoul Swimwear had failed to complete the necessary forms for the shipment, which is why I had to handle everything myself. I immediately contacted the brand, and their response was that it is widely known that products shipped from the Canary Islands go through customs — and that this information is mentioned somewhere on their website. I should note that it is not legally acceptable to hide such essential information in parts of a website that are not clearly visible to customers before purchase. In the end, I refused to accept the parcel, informed Makhoul Swimwear, and was told I would receive a refund once the package arrived back in the Canary Islands — even though I never received or handled the item in any way. Now, it’s mid-October, the parcel has already reached Spain, and I still haven’t received my refund. So, before you order from this brand, check the customs regulations yourself.
